Omg. Qijian gets an unBEELEEVABLE 61 points for this week! Just so happened that all his players either came out with clean sheets, or scored themselves. Argh. You lucky boi. This brings his total to 111 points, which is also top of the league! In one week! Imba.
Eugene has carried on his hot streak and gained a respectable 39 points to take his score to 109.
Zhen Yang fits comfortably in third place. 42 points for the week and 103 in total. Ahh~ his usual pwning self. But that's not news. It'll be news if he doesn't pwn.
Actually I don't wanna talk much about the mid-table. 10 points separate 4th to 9th slot. And perhaps that's all there is to it. Well, something worth noting is that Sua Yu is leading the mid-table pack! And Kok dunno drift to dunno where already.
Uh next, to the ZIBEI ZONE. LEADING the pack is ME. ARGH. All my players either didn't play well, or didn't make the 1st XI, or didn't even play. Sian diao. Really. With the exception of perhaps Fabregas, Maik Taylor and Kasper Schemichel.
Yah so I slalomed all the way to 10th place. How unbecoming.
Ok, that's all for today. If you haven't joined the Champions League fantasy mini-league yet, DO SO NOW. Cos matches start tomorrow morning! And promos are next week!
I really do hope Chelsea vs Rosenborg is shown on LiveFooty tonight. Cos there isn't a single link yet. Whereas for the Porto vs Liverpool match, there are SOOOO many links. Guess that's the fate of small clubs lah.
Thank goodness for the autosave function. My browser phailed. It r n00b. But luckily the report was still there. Rejoice!

Yay your responsible GP rep has uploaded the stuff on the GP CD to t3h 1nt4rw3b! Figured that burning it to more CDs would mean a waste of CDs (it's only ~110mb) and inefficient distribution (some may just hog the CD and forget to bring it.) And some people are afraid that it may turn yellow *coughcoughahemshawncheecoughahemhackcough*.
Don't worry there ain't any viruses on it (unless Ms Ng burnt one in the CD!!), and it won't turn your computer yellow as well.
I didn't use Yousendit cos to download you have to register as well. Which is a terrible hassle IMO. So I used zShare. Got to know of it while downloading soccer highlights from the Soccerpulse forums. Actually you guys didn't hafta know that. Yeah.
And I still haven't updated the fantasy league table. Lazy me... :\
Oh yeah. THESE LINKS WILL CEASE TO FUNCTION AFTER 60 DAYS OF INACTIVITY. But then again, it's only 12 days to exams! OH SHI- 12 days?! AHHHHHHH!!!!!

He who thinks rugby is better than soccer plays the fantasy league! Haha.
(First table is the total points accrued [learnt this word from Mr Salient Point] and the second table represents the points gained from this week. Will be following this format in the future. Much better than the mini-league table in Soccernet right? See I so nice.)
This time, Eugene surges up the table to nestle comfortably at first place with 70 points! His position won't budge for two whole weeks, because of the upcoming internationals. Well, it just so happened that Fernando Torres decided to score somewhere in the region of 12 points single-handedly, a contribution from his two goals plundered in the 6-0 demolition of Derby. Eugene's 39 points accounts for more than half his score! Aha, every dog has his day. Not in the literal sense. Really.
Next is Zhen Yang, the rugby advocate with 64 points. I wonder how he manages to get so many points each week. Must be his 31337 run3sc4p3 h4xX0R p4w4rrs.
Now, the difference between the next four teams is a solitary point. Kok, JY, Hugo Wee Bo Hao and Kai Jun in order of merit. Kok ~sorta~ redeemed himself by gaining the most points for this week, alongside Eugene. Hugo garnered 29 points, and JY and Kai Jun had very indifferent results, 25 points apiece. Which meant they went sliding down the table.
Joe, Qi Jian and Wicktor occupy the mid-table. Now mid-table teams are mid-table teams. Which are mid-table teams. Period. Relegation zone peeps are more interesting. But there isn't any relegation in this league. So we'll just call it the zibei zone.
And in the zibei zone is Sua, Lokky and lastly Jon. Haiz. What happen sia? Even JY who doesn't really watch alot of soccer gets a good number of points. Really zibei...
Ok that kinda wraps up the action for this week! Euro 2008 qualifiers are up next, which means NO PREMIERSHIP SOCCER. noooooo.....which means I can't post soccer reports! So sad.

Why Rugby > Soccer:
Rugby is a far more inclusive team game than soccer. Instead of being isolated for hours on the wing with nobody passing the ball to you, at least rugby allows gangs of players to jump on top of you. You really feel like you belong.
Rugby players aren't recidivist cheats and don't swear at the referee. Soccer players dive, feign injury, abuse the men in black and try to get opponents sent off.
Yea.Catch the Rugby World Cup from 7 sept!

~Liverpool signal title intent~
After the midweek mauling of Toulouse, it was expected that Rafa Benitez would make significant changes to his team selection. True to his word of his rotation policy, Benitez made five changes against a team doomed for life in the Championship next season. In return were influential Spanish midfield maestro Xabi Alonso and clinical Spaniard Fernando Torres, and boy, what difference did they make! The two of them weighed in with two goals apiece as the rampant Reds ran riot and hit Derby for six.
With this victory, it propelled the mighty Reds to the top of the league. If not for a certain Rob Styles who had robbed Liverpool of a victory at Anfield against Chelsea, it would have read a perfect 4 wins out of 4 for Benitez’s all conquering side. This massive 3 points gained must have left the Chelseas, Man Utds and Arsenals quaking in their boots as Liverpool start to look like genuine title contenders for the first time in many years.
Liverpool began the match without much inspiration but Alonso popped in with a fluke goal from 35 yards out via a free kick to open the floodgates. Bywater utterly, completely, totally and absolutely misjudged the dead ball to the horror of the Rams as he could only dive haplessly while watching the ball fly into the net. Babel then made it 2-0 at the stroke of half-time with a thunderous shot that rocketed into the roof of the net after dummying two Derby defenders.
The second half performance by Liverpool was something to behold as they smashed in an additional four goals. Newest striking sensation Fernando Torres emphatically reaffirmed his mantle as one of the hottest goal scorers in the game by coolly slotting the ball into the back of the net after some excellent play by Mascherano close to the hour mark. Alonso then stroked in the fourth of the day to complete his brace before Voronin tapped in from close range. Torres confirmed his arrival on the big stage when he rounded off a magnificent performance by rounding the keeper, hammering the final nail in the relegation struggler’s coffin.
The result was more pleasing for the Kopites considering Liverpool were missing defensive stalwart Jamie Carragher and skipper Steven Gerrard. In past seasons, The Reds constantly struggled without the influence of Gerrard. However, today is proof that Liverpool are now a much changed outfit. With the season still a long way to go, anything can happen but one thing is for sure – that Liverpool are certainly in the running for the Premiership title this term.
